Specialist Training
Neil trained in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, having graduated medicine from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. He is accredited as a Subspecialist in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility.
He is now involved with training and examining other fertility subspecialists throughout Australia and New Zealand.
With a national and international reputation as a leader in gynaecology and fertility clinical research, Neil inaugurated and was steering group chairperson of the Australasian multicentre fertility research network REACT-ANZ. He was also inaugural chairperson of ACCEPT, the Australasian Consensus CREI Expert Panel on Trial evidence, an Australasian consensus group producing consensus statements in the field of infertility. His main areas of research interest currently include evidence based fertility treatments, endometriosis, polycystic ovaries and ovarian reserve. He has developed an innovative treatment for unexplained and endometriosis-related infertility, using lipiodol, a poppy seed oil.
