Dr Duthie Mills specialises in orthopaedic medico-legal assessment. He is skilled at performing independent medico-legal examinations and evaluations in respect of impairment and disability assessments with his background in trauma and injury management.
Dr Mills has previously held the position of part-time Visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland and was previously Chairman, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Middlemore.
He is currently Honorary Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Middlemore Hospital and has past appointments at Mercy Hospital, Ascot Hospital and Auckland Adventist Hospital in Auckland.
Dr Mills provides independent medical examinations for various agencies such as government departments, the Accident Compensation Corporation, lawyers, and also as requested by private individuals.
He has previously served as Chairman of the Auckland Orthopaedic Society (1981-82). Dr Mills belongs to the following professional associations:
• Fellow Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Gordon Gordon-Taylor Prize 1964].
• Member Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Medico-Legal Section.
• Senior Fellow New Zealand Orthopaedic Association.
